Do you need a home inventory?  The answer is simple - could you remember all of your possessions if you suffered a loss?  Can you document all those tools in your basement, how many dresses are hanging in your closet, each piece of crystal in your buffet?  You probably own more "stuff" than you realize.  An up to date home inventory can make it possible for you to receive a faster and fairer insurance settlement, and to document those losses that are not covered by insurance for tax deduction purposes.

The HomeHub iSafe program makes it easy for you to create your inventory.  I recommend that you photograph your possessions - not necessarily one at a time, but together as groups.  Take a photo of your closets, and then enter the details as one possession record.  Do the same for your dresser drawers, china cabinets, furniture, decorations, and so on.  This will make the task much easier and faster, and provide excellent documentary proof of your possessions and their condition.  A video camera is an excellent alternative since you can also describe the objects as you tape them.
